Anna Wilson joined United Way in July 2024 as Family Champion for Hardin, Chester, and McNairy Counties. With over a decade of experience supporting children and families, she brings a diverse skill set that allows her to assist the community in meaningful and multifaceted ways.
Anna earned an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education from Volunteer State Community College in 2016 and was a Graduate of Excellence nominee for her contributions to the community. She began her professional career in early childhood education, working with Dollar General’s corporate childcare program in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, before opening her own 3-Star Inclusive Center in Springfield. During this time, she partnered with local organizations to connect families with vital resources and provide low-cost enrichment opportunities.
From 2013 to 2021, Anna served as a therapeutic foster parent, providing long-term care for 36 children. She worked closely with agencies and lawmakers to champion for safer, more effective foster care practices. Following this, she transitioned into birth work as a Professional Doula, Childbirth Educator, Certified Lactation Counselor, and Midwifery Assistant, collaborating with hospital and home birth professionals to improve birth outcomes in West Tennessee.
Passionate about family well-being, Anna is committed to creating environments where children and parents can thrive. She plans on attending University of Tennessee at Martin in the fall to finish her Bachelor in Social Work.
In her free time, she enjoys creative writing, gardening, and spending time in nature with her five children.
