Jordan Howerton

Jordan Howerton
Regional Director
Greater Jackson Financial Empowerment Center

Jordan joined United Way in November 2021 as one of the first Financial Counselors for the Greater Jackson Financial Empowerment Center, before advancing to Regional Director in 2023. In this role, he is pioneering a groundbreaking regional approach by coordinating multiple offices across several municipalities and counties—the first such initiative in the Cities for Financial Empowerment network.

Previously, Jordan served as the Director of Ministries at City Fellowship Baptist Church, where he managed over 100 volunteers and established essential operational processes and systems. In 2020, he led a development team in creating the 211 Hub, a digital platform now utilized by United Way for their 211 services. His diverse professional background also includes work with Heartland Construction renovating homes and several years of experience with Regions Bank.

Jordan holds a Master of Business Administration from Union University and is a graduate of the 2024 Leadership Jackson class. He maintains professional memberships with the Memphis chapter of the Project Management Institute, where he is currently pursuing his PMP Certification. Jordan is also a Certified Financial Counselor through The National Association of Certified Credit Counselors.

When not serving his community, Jordan enjoys watching murder mysteries with his wife, playing with his two daughters, November and Elinor, and being a part of his church, All Saints Anglican Church. He is also a novice (but enthusiastic) gardener and an avid reader of science fiction (don’t get him started).
