
Kaitlyn joined the United Way team in March of 2023 as the Child Care Champion. She transitioned into her current role as the Director of Early Education Initiatives in April of 2024.
Kaitlyn is a passionate advocate for early childhood education in West Tennessee. With a deep-rooted commitment to improving childcare and early learning opportunities, Kaitlyn has extensive experience in the field. She has previously worked as an Infant and Toddler Quality Coach at TN Child Care Resource and Referral and as a Service Coordinator at the Tennessee Early Intervention System, roles that have reinforced her dedication to ensuring all children have access to the resources they need to thrive. Kaitlyn has also previously been employed as a Lead Teacher in the Toddler Classroom at The Margaret N. Perry Children’s Center, where she oversaw the one-year-old classroom.
Kaitlyn holds both a Master and a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Tennessee at Martin, equipping her with the expertise to support childcare providers. While completing her degrees, Kaitlyn completed field experience at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. Kaitlyn currently serves on TCCY’s Southwest Council Executive Board, the Advisory Board for TECTA at Dyersburg State, TDMHSAS Region VI Children's Committee, AIMHiTN’s Endorsement Advocate Team, and the West TN Children in Disasters Task Force. Kaitlyn also serves as a West Tennessee Bright Start Fellow and is a certified child passenger technician. Kaitlyn is currently enrolled in and will graduate from Dyer County Leadership in July of 2025.
Personally, Kaitlyn is married to her high school sweetheart, Ryan. They recently adopted their son, Jack, and have three dogs- Milo, Winnie, and Ivy. Kaitlyn and her husband are a licensed foster family. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, crafting, and spending quality time with her family.
