Director of Grants Management and Special Projects

Legon joined the United Way team in January 2023 as the Director of Grants Management and Special Projects.

She is a social work professional with experience in grants management, community program development, and higher education. With degrees in Social Work (MSW) and Business Administration (MBA) from Union University, Legon combines a love for serving people well with business knowledge to help create sustainable programs that have a long-term impact.

Previously, Legon served as the Director of Marketing and Continuing Education for Union University’s School of Social Work, where she oversaw recruitment, admissions, and the coordination of continuing education programs, while also instructing courses on community social work practice. Prior to that role, Legon worked as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Regional Inter-Faith Association (RIFA), where she helped lead initiatives that addressed food security for Madison County residents.

Recognized for her professional contributions, Legon has received honors including Union University Social Work Field Instructor of the Year in 2024 and membership in the Beta Sigma Gamma Business Honors Society. She is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Jackson and a member of the Class of 2025 of the WestStar Leadership Program.

Outside of  work, Legon enjoys spending time with her husband, Dustin, and their two goldendoodles, Bo and Trip.
