Lisbon joined the United Way team in July 2024 as the AmeriCorps Program Director and Jackson Grown Program Manager. She just recently graduated from Converse University in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Art in Business Administration.
During the summer of 2023, Lisbon had the opportunity to intern at United Way as part of her Social Entrepreneurship minor. During her internship, she gained valuable hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector, deepening her understanding of community impact and service-driven initiatives. She also focused on marketing strategies as part of her Marketing minor, allowing her to develop skills in outreach, communication, and engagement—skills she now applies in her role.
During her time at Converse, Lisbon discovered her passion for service projects and leadership through the Converse College for Women (CCW), an empowering living-learning community centered on mentorship, service, and leadership. As part of a sisterhood that spans more than 130 years, she embraced Converse's mission to see clearly, decide wisely, and act justly—values that continue to guide her today. Through community events, engaging programming, women’s-centered courses, and long-standing traditions, Lisbon honed her leadership skills and developed a deep appreciation for serving others.
In addition to her involvement in CCW, Lisbon was a Division II collegiate swimmer, where she learned the importance of leadership, teamwork, and adaptability. Competing at the collegiate level challenged her to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals, strengthen her communication skills, and develop resilience—qualities that she now applies in her professional and community work.
With a strong commitment to community engagement, Lisbon is passionate about making a lasting impact through service projects and capacity-building initiatives. She believes in the power of service to strengthen communities and create opportunities for growth and development. In her role, she is excited to support AmeriCorps members, foster meaningful partnerships, and help drive positive change across West Tennessee.
Outside of work, Lisbon enjoys reading, cuddling her cat, Theo, coloring, exercising, and eating her favorite sweet treat, ice cream. Lisbon also plans to pursue a Master in Nonprofit Management in the near future, further equipping herself with the knowledge and skills to enhance her impact in the nonprofit sector.
