The Fight for a Quality Life

How long have you been a United Way giver?

First Citizens National Bank has been supporting United Way since their board was established in Dyer County. Previous FirstCNB Chief Executive Officers, Katie Winchester and Stallings Lipford, were driving forces behind Dyer County's collaboration with United Way. Current CEO, Jeff Agee, has continued our commitment to improving the communities we serve through initiatives United Way provides with our partnership.

Why do you give to United Way?

United Way believes that every person in our community deserves to live a healthy life, receive a quality education, and have a financially stable home - a mission that aligns with our own. FirstCNB gives to United Way to advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all.

Why do you believe in United Way?

Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, and when people are healthy.

How has partnering with United Way strengthened your company/community?

Through United Way’s approach, contributions help educate children to be ready for school, promote economic stability so people can provide for themselves and their families, and care for the most vulnerable in our community. United Way enlists the help of volunteers, people like you and me, to study community needs, evaluate programs, and make decisions about where contributed dollars are spent each year.

What would you say to any company/organization who is wanting to make a difference in their community? In other words, why do you think companies should partner with United Way as financial givers?

Our workplace campaign is the easiest and most powerful way to invest in our respective communities. I invite you to be part of a positive change in our communities. Working together, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better life for all.
