On June 25, we hosted our annual Celebration Breakfast at First United Methodist Church in Jackson. During this event, we recognized last year’s Top 30 Giving Companies, Campaigns of Excellence, the Agency Director of the Year, and this year’s Corporate Sponsors. We also updated attendees on last year’s accomplishments and recent projects highlighted in the 2021 Community Impact Report.
During 2020, United Way invested over $850,000 in 73 programs through 56 agencies in 14 counties across West Tennessee. This funding helped to support initiatives that focus on health, education, and financial stability, which touched more than 30,000 lives within the first six months.
During the breakfast, Amy McDonald from Tennessee Homeless Solutions was recognized as the 2021 Agency Director of the Year. In addition, United Way announced the company with the highest percentage increase and the company with the highest dollar increase during 2020: Central Distributors, Inc. and Delta Faucet/Masco Corporation, respectively.
Toward the end of the event, recognition was given to the 2021-22 Corporate Sponsors and the Top 30 Giving Companies during the 2020-21 campaign year. Thanks to the financial support of these companies, United Way raised over $1.3 million.
