United Way of West TN Hosts Eighth Annual First Ladies’ Luncheon Outdoors

United Way of West Tennessee’s Women’s Leadership Council is thrilled to announce the eighth annual First Ladies’ Luncheon, United Way’s largest fundraising event. To ensure the safety of each guest during the COVID-19 pandemic, the luncheon will take place at the Jackson Fairgrounds Outdoor Pavilion on April 8th at 12pm.

The First Ladies’ Luncheon is a unique event where companies and organizations across West Tennessee gather together to celebrate the impact of local women within the community. Another unique feature is the impressive and diverse set of tablescapes, each which are decorated based on every organization’s personal taste and style. Lunch will be served by Gourmet Your Way.

“Though we may have to do things differently this year, we're still eager to host this elegant event for such a great cause,” said Anita Kay Archer, Chair of the Women’s Leadership Council. “There are so many wonderful leading women in our community, and this is our chance to celebrate their accomplishments.”

This year’s keynote speaker will feature Tennessee Department of Education Commissioner, Penny Schwinn. Coming from a family of educators, Commissioner Schwinn has extensive experience with teaching and education. She has also previously served in other state and district roles.

“We're excited to host Commissioner Schwinn at this year’s First Ladies’ Luncheon,” said Matt Marshall, United Way President/CEO. “Not only has she championed one of our organization’s key focuses, but she is a powerful testimony to the importance of women in leadership.”

One program supported by this event is United Way’s Tennessee Afterschool Network, which supports children, youth, families, and communities by advocating and building capacity with a unified voice for sustainable investments in safe, healthy, and nurturing after school experiences.

Individual tickets and table sponsorships for the event can be purchased at here or by emailing kchambers@unitedway.tn.org. This event will adhere to CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19.
